Good day Team Members,
I have a very strange question , is there a way to configure OSPF with a Virtual IP or floating IP.
Reason is we have a successfully ospf neigbour with an isp with a single VR an interface in OSPF using broadcast with a Distribution list with connected interfaces , which they have two cpe and hrsp between them with a floating/hrsp ip used as the nexthop on the firewall in ospf routing table when vewing run times stats. Request from the isp to for the PA/Firewall to configure OSPF using virtual ip to form a neigbourship
Am still in the process of getting the design solution.Personally i dont think this can be done with a single vr in that matter or a singla instance of OSPF on the VR, but just want to find out from the experts if this in a possible way even with two vr.This dont make sense at the moment, but yeah.
You can do a loopback interface with a "virtual" ip address. You may need to add a static route on the upstream router or leverage proxy-arp via a nat rule
